Við hjá Geochemý teljum okkur ansi heppin með vinnustað :) Hér er smá sýn inn í vinnu okkar á síðasta ári (2019). Verkefnin voru mörg og misjöfn, allt frá efnavöktun Mývatns og grunnvatnslindum, ferilprófi og boroholumælingum, að kynningu á jarðfræði svæðisins í franskri náttúrulífsmynd. Working here in Mývatn Nature Reserve is a privilege :) Here is a glimpse into our work life from 2019. Our projects have been diverse, i.e. from monitoring of Lake Mývatn, and the groundwater springs, routine borehole sampling and tracer test monitoring, to introducing the geology of the Mývatn-Krafla area in a French documentary film. Á fésbókarsíðu Geochemý munum við pósta fréttum og myndefni af okkar starfi undir millumerkinu #100 hamingjudagar. Þetta skemmtilega verkefni hóf sveitastjórinn okkar Þorsteinn Gunnarsson til að sýna lífið í Mývatnssveitinni. Endilega fylgist með hér.
We are going to publish some pictures and news of our projects at Geochemý on our facebook page. The posts are part of the project #100 happy days and was initiated by our major Þorsteinn Gunnarsson. The idea is to broadcast the life at Lake Mývatn. Check it out here. Í froststillum vikunnar safnast jarðgufa og brennisteinsvetni upp í Mývatnssveit. Útkoman verður alveg einstaklega falleg! Geochemý rannsakar dreifingu brennisteinsvetnisins frá Bjarnarflagi.
In calm cold winter days, geothermal steam cumulates at Lake Myvatn. The produced environment is one of a kind! Geochemý examines the distribution of the hydrogen sulfide gas, which originates from the geothermal system. |
